Key Responsibilities
The Barista / Head Barista may be responsible for:
- Preparing a wide variety of espresso-based beverages
- Preparing pour-over coffees and other specialty coffee drinks
- Operating espresso machines and other coffee equipment
- Ensuring coffee beverages are prepared consistently and accurately
- Applying appropriate coffee brewing techniques
- Creating attractive latte art and beverage presentations
- Maintaining high standards of coffee quality
- Understanding different coffee bean origins and flavor profiles
- Recommending suitable coffee and beverage options to customers
- Welcoming customers with professional and friendly service
- Explaining menu items and answering customer questions
- Providing personalized beverage recommendations
- Maintaining a clean and organized bar area
- Cleaning coffee machines, grinders, tools, counters, and other equipment
- Keeping customer-facing areas clean and presentable
- Following food safety and hygiene procedures
- Monitoring coffee bean, milk, syrup, and other beverage supplies
- Checking inventory levels regularly
- Informing management when supplies need to be reordered
- Helping prevent stock shortages through proper inventory management
- Ensuring ingredients and consumables are stored appropriately
- Supporting smooth day-to-day café operations
- Following company standards for beverage preparation and customer service
- Assisting colleagues during busy service periods
- Performing other duties related to café and beverage operations as assigned by management
